The Dragon Emperor's Regret Is Not My Problem

Lyra dies by dragon fire ordered by Emperor Kaelus, then wakes five years earlier as minor noble Lyra Voss with a dragon-binding mark glowing on her collarbone. She resolves to rewrite her fate and seeks out a dragon lord to bind.

Lyra bargains with Riven, the dragon lord who once secretly aided her in her past life, and successfully binds him using the mark, but the binding sends a magical shockwave that alerts Emperor Kaelus to her existence.

Lyra arrives at the capital and bargains with Kaelus: release her family and she will consider his offer, but she secretly uses the encounter to learn his weakness—a curse that only a dragon-binding mark can stabilize.
